Earning Bonus Alaska Air MileagePlan Miles Using Rocket Miles for Hotel Booking
I have an upcoming personal trip to Denton, Texas for a day for that I started looking for a hotel room for which I do not want to pay more than $120. My first search was performed under Expedia, and I narrowed down to a hotel which will cost me $96.05 for a night stay.

Rocket Miles Hotel availability and Bonus Airline Miles
I have heard about Rocket Miles and their program of awarding frequent flyer miles to various airline partners for hotel booking made through Rocket Miles website. So I performed a search on the Rocket Miles website for the same hotel and found out Rocket Miles is offering the same hotel for a price of $116.85. A price difference of $20.80.

For the additional price, they were also offering 1,000 Alaska Air MileagePlan miles or American Airlines AAdvantage Miles.
Airline promotion of first time Rocket Miles Hotel Booking
I remembered receiving an email from American Airlines about a promotion which will allow me to get 3,000 sign up bonus points as well as an email from Alaska Airlines about 2,000 Alaska Airlines miles as a signup bonus. So I wanted to check out how much it will cost me to earn those additional bonus miles.

Cost Per Miles Earned
Since there is a price difference of $20.80 I need to find out how much I will be paying for earning the Airline Miles
|Airline||Miles Earned||Each Mile Cost in Cents|
Based on the above table I will be paying only 0.069 cents per mile for Alaska Airline Mile and 0.052 cents for American Airline Miles. Since I value both airline miles around 1.5 cents, the $20.80 difference in payment is not much considering I will be earning 3,000 or 4,000 miles for a $20.80 spent.
Hotel booking attempt using American Airline Bonus Miles
Since American Airlines offers 3,000 bonus miles compared to Alaska Airline 2,000 bonus miles, I tried to book the hotel using the American Airlines promotion offer. When I logged into Rocket Miles using the American Airlines promo code I did not see the Comfort Inn that was available without the login.
What I understood was since the promo deal gives more mileage, I was forced to book a hotel with a higher price. Since the hotel was not available using American Airlines promotion offer, I decided to try my luck using Alaska Airlines promotion offer.
Booking Hotel using Alaska Airline Bonus Mile offer
I opened the email I received from Alaska Airline 2,000 miles bonus offer used the link provided in the email to go the Rocke Mile website. I performed the hotel search, and I found out the same hotel was available when I used the Alaska Airlines promo offer.
Paid for the hotel using my Chase Sapphire Credit Card and provided my Alaska Airline MilegePlan frequent flyer number for proper mileage credit for the hotel booking. After booking confirmation, I received a message that I will be receiving 3,000 Alaska Air MileagePlan miles for the hotel reservation.
Since I paid for the reservation using my Chase Sapphire Credit card, for travel related category, I should be earning 2 points per dollar spend and receive 233 ultimate rewards point.
Received an email this morning from RocketMiles that my 3,000 sign up bonus points posted to Alaska Air MilegePlan account.
