I thought of writing this blog article a few weeks ago, but due to Hurricane Harvey and other pressing issues, I postponed writing this article.
My spouse applied and received the United MileagePlus Explorer card from Chase. She was targeted for the 70K MileagePlus miles sign up bonus for the Chase United MileagePlus visa card, and she applied for the card, the very last day of the offer on July 31 and approved for the card immediately.
Applied for 70K Chase United Explorer Visa
I was targeted only for the 50k offer, but my wife was targeted for the 70k Chase United Explorer Visa card during the Chase promotional offer that ended in July 2017.
The 70k offer does not waive the first year annual fee of $95, but getting the additional 20k United MileagePlus miles compared to the standard 50k offer is worth paying the first year annual fee.
United mile has a nominal value of 1.5¢ and an actual usage value of 5.0¢ if the miles are used for purchasing the premium class ticket. Based on the nominal value of 1.5¢ per mile the signup bonus is valued at $1,050, and the signup bonus is valued at $3,500 based on the usage value of 5.0¢ per mile.
Received the Chase United Explorer Visa Card
Received the card within five days of online approval and we need to spend $3000 with in 90 days to unlock the signup bonus of 70K United MileagePlus frequent flyer miles. This is the first time she applied and received the card Chase United Explorer card. I will update the website when her account is credited with the 70k United MileagePlus frequent flyer miles.
